SUMMER 16 //
The style of my current capsule wardrobe is best described as equal parts sporty, laid-back, timeless and chic. I’ve designed my capsule wardrobe to be extremely versatile, functional and comfortable. I prefer monochromatic solids or stripes and never met a shade of black I didn’t like. After years of wasting money on trendy items that spent more time in the closet than on my body, I have embraced the power of conscious shopping and mindful editing.
My rules for dressing are pretty simple – Do I Love It? and Do I Feel and Look Good? As soon as an item doesn’t make me feel good or looks unflattering, it goes bye-bye. I currently have about 50-60 items in my closet. (this does not include workout clothes or basics like socks and underwear. Although I’ve paired those down as well) Despite what you might see on Pinterest or on other blogs, I’m here to happily let you know there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to putting together a capsule wardrobe. If you love and look stunning in a certain pattern, color or cut, then that’s what you should build your capsule around. But the one rule- buy ONLY what you truly love and remember –
LESS IS MORE.

Tired of staring at a packed closet and still thinking you have nothing to wear? Do you absolutely hate that regretful guilty feeling when those new clothes bought on impulse that ‘you just had to have’ never actually get worn?
You’re not alone and that used to be me.
My old closet was home to over 400 pieces of clothing and I regularly wore about 10% of it. Eek! So I finally took steps to drastically reduce the amount I owned by selling or donating almost everything. The items that remained were only pieces I truly loved, wore constantly and fit me perfectly. I spent countless hours figuring out how to curate a capsule wardrobe. My current capsule wardrobe has completely transformed the way I dress, feel and now saves me a TON of time, money and stress! Which is why I decided to share this post on How To Build A Capsule Wardrobe and designed this FREE 7-page Capsule Wardrobe Planner so you could start truly defining your personal style and editing your wardrobe to be 100% true to you.
