This past Friday, the new Restoration Hardware Austin (also now referred to as RH) location opened. On Wednesday night my girl Erin and I got to attend their grand opening party and it was one of the best events I’ve been to in Austin this year. We had so much fun sipping bellinis and wandering the showrooms while catching up with lots of people we hadn’t seen in a while. But it was hard to actually take everything in during the party, so when they invited me back before the official opening to take a tour of the whole store I was quick to say yes.
Fun little fact: I was actually an interior design major when I started college but was forced to switch to marketing due to volleyball commitments but have never lost my passion for decorating and design. So it was such a treat to have the whole store to ourselves! I brought mom along and we had a magical little morning touring all four floors while also repeatedly asking if we could just move in. I found myself bouncing from room to room, trying to capture all the little details, with ‘omg, I love this’, ‘I’m obsessed!‘, ‘this is literally perfection‘ coming out of my mouth what seemed like every minute.
Dubbed ‘the estate’, located in the new Domain Northside area, this sprawling retail will quickly become the go-to spot for interior designers and enthusiasts alike. It features four floors of showrooms, all perfectly curated and totally drool-worthy. It gave me so much inspiration for #thehouseoff12th. Between the rooftop garden, design atelier featuring every swatch and sample your little decorating heart could ever desire and their newest RH Modern – it is impossible for me to choose a ‘favorite part’. But the RH Modern floor definitely took my breathe away. Every room was carefully designed with a balanced, minimalist approach that proves RH can definitely do modern and they do it very well. I’ll definitely be taking a lot of design cues from this new line when it comes time to furnish the new house. And can someone please just buy me a fiddle leaf tree already?!
The rooftop garden was so lovely, especially early in the morning. They welcome guests to grab a coffee and lounge for a bit or even take a work meeting up there. It’s a great place to take a shopping break or a meeting spot with friends before heading down to a happy hour. I love their innovative and fresh approach to retail, by designing spaces that allow customers to truly experience and interact with their products.
I’d definitely recommend taking a trip to visit the RH estate next time you find yourself in the Domain area. It’s a truly stunning store that will provide you with an endless source of design inspiration for you next project at home. You can see all the rest of the photos in the slideshow below, but seeing it IRL is definitely the only way to go.
