Stripes are the perfect pattern to include in any capsule wardrobe. I got this great little striped swing dress (similar one here) at a local boutique over the summer and have gotten so much use out of it and I fully plan on wearing it through the winter. I can layer leggings under it for more of a tunic look or add a long-sleeved shirt under it when the temps start to drop. Stripes are truly timeless, chic and never boring. Want to really stand out? Try choosing a more bold cut or interesting design. Maybe a dropped waist, off the shoulder sleeves or a peter pan collar for some interest. Whatever it is, the most important thing to remember is you must love it and it should be versatile enough to go with a wide range of other things in your closet.

My tips for styling stripes are pretty basic: They go with everything. Add a hat, throw on a jacket, tuck it in to jeans or a high-waisted skirt, tie them around your neck or waist… seriously stripes can do no wrong.
Next week I’ll be inventorying my closet and reviewing my capsule wardrobe for Fall. I plan on documenting the process on my Insta-story for you all so be sure to follow along if you’re considering downsizing your closet and becoming more intentional about your style. And don’t forget to grab a copy of my FREE capsule wardrobe planning guide, which I’ll also be filling out as I go through my closet.
