We made the leap and are now the proud owners of a 2012 Jayco Flight 33′ Travel Trailer! Only a small handful of friends and family new about this adjustment we made to our tiny living timeline. At the beginning of 2015 we began making plans to start building a tiny home. Unfortunately we ran into some road blocks and unforeseen circumstances that forced us to put our tiny house dreams on hold for a bit. But as they say, for every negative there is a positive. And we’re definitely looking at this new opportunity as a BIG positive!Lately, the topic of traveling has been a constant between us and after my trip to California I realized how restless I had become being in one place. We both have very adventurous spirits and felt seizing this opportunity in life to be free and travel was just the right decision for us.
Our current plan is to remodel the interior over the next two months until the lease is up on our current apartment. (the interior is very clean, but the design is gag-worthy..so there will be MANY before/after posts!) Once we are all moved in we’ll mostly hit the road, but we haven’t set a date quite yet! We will be blogging our adventures, mishaps and general life on the road. Since our company essentially runs itself we’ll be working on growing our brand from the road and have several other very exciting projects in the works that will allow us to be mobile while exploring the rest of our beautiful country!
I had already decided to name our future tiny home ‘The Duke’, so I figured this can be Duke 1.0. We’ll be posting any and all things to do with the remodel and road-trip with the hashtag #DukeTheTravelTrailer so y’all can keep up on Instagram! J and I are both pretty excited to purge all our stuff (yes a BIG yard sale will happening in the very near future!) and jump head first into this crazy adventure!
Time to officially join the tiny living community and embrace a true minimalist lifestyle on the open road.
